SUBDUED

With every second that went by

She couldn’t help it

To stop her subdued heart from missing Liam.

How she longed to hold him

And make beautiful messes together.

She was developing an obsession

With the passage of time

She struggled to fight back her emotions

Self imposed prison you’d say.

If only she knew how to release herself.

On their jungle camp bed, outside her balcony she lay

Wanting to watch the beautiful moon

Maybe to fall asleep and forget

Yet fighting back tears that rolled uncontrollably

Her subdued broken heart couldn’t keep silent

Kept resounding every words he said

Bringing life to emotions she’d been fighting to bury

Where did she go wrong?
